Robert Mims, Memphis Local: Kentucky Wildcats Football Fan

Hey! This is Robert Mims from Memphis. Welcome to my humble sports site. Here I’ll be talking about my favorite sport (football) and attempt to analyze and dissect the games. If you’re a fellow college football fan, welcome aboard! Again, the name is Robert Mims (I’m from Memphis), but feel free to call me Rob or simply Robert.

Robert Mims: Memphis Tigers-Louisville Cardinals-Kentucky Wildcats

Since I was a kid, I’ve been following college football, catching the games with my dad. He’s an alumnus of University of Memphis, so I guess you can say the love for Memphis runs in our genes. My mom also graduated there, but truth be told, I’d rather root for the Kentucky Wildcats. When it comes to college football, I mainly follow the rivalry between Louisville, Memphis, and Kentucky. As I, Robert Mims, am from Memphis, you can’t really blame me for hating Louisville’s guts, right? Seriously though, I enjoy the Louisville-Memphis-Kentucky rivalry and look forward to these teams slugging it out every season. Nationally, their rivalry may not be the biggest, like North Carolina-Duke, but true fans will tell you that it’s the game, the players, and the fans that make the whole thing entertaining.

If my records have it correctly, Louisville still leads Memphis 24-19 in men’s football. This dates back all the way back to 1948. As for the Wildcats’ record, we’re way ahead of the Cardinals with a comfortable 34-16 scorecard. Among all the games however, I’m most interested in Kentucky-Louisville, Kentucky-Indiana, Kentucky-Vanderbilt, and Kentucky-Mississippi.

Robert Mims: Golf

Aside from football, I also play golf. The combination strikes many people as odd, but I assure you that there are more similarities between the two sports than there are differences. Other than that, both sports use a ball (I’m being sarcastic here), both require tremendous athleticism and mental focus. In fact, mental strength or toughness is so important that I believe it’s the key to winning championships. Feel free to visit my Blog where I explain this further in detail. This page is where I’ll talk about college football in general.

You can also visit my News page for the latest football news, particularly what’s happening in Kentucky, Louisville, and Memphis football. I also have a page up for the latest playoff standings in college football, so you can check in there if you want a quick look of things.
